Lace up for Cancer 10 km

4 February

If you’re going to turn up for only one run this week, it may as well be in a tutu. Lace up for Cancer, a little 10 km fun run, in which I won a few bags of prizes for showing the most spirit, and in which I discovered that 10 km is slightly more challenging when run in summer heat, wearing a wig and the biggest tutu on the show. By 8 km Firstborn Daughter’s boyfriend was reconsidering the the sanity of running the Cape Town Marathon.

Bags of prizes for showing spirit. If you can’t win trophies for your running talent, bags of goodies for being a ray of sunshine is okay, right?
